On Sunday June 12 2005 Peckwater Estate TRA held a Sports Day & BBQ in honour of Nell Deller - a longstanding tenant activist and community organiser who passed away two years ago. The day was to commemorate everything she did - with and for this community. The endless organising and campaigning for kids, her work in the TA, the pensioners Monday Club and so much more. And we put up a plaque outside her old flat at 1 Greatfield to remind us.

Everyone had a great time - here are a few of the photos. A big thanks to everyone on the estate who helped make the day a success and all the other people who helped out too: NW5 Playhut, caretakers, Caversham Neighbourhood Partnership, Camden ITEC, Peckwater Hillbillies, Simona Scotto & Mimi Dance, Guido on the disco, Michael Bond and everyone part of Caversham Children and Young People's Service Providers. Thanks also to Ellaine, Gary and Cathy for coming with their families.

We missed two things on the day. We missed Nell - her support, advice and... tombolla. And we missed Kentish Town Fire station who bottled the 'tug of war' challenge with a lame excuse that their engine had broken down (next time you won't escape!). Otherwise it was brilliant.
